Paediatric Feeding Therapy in Leicestershire

Finding specialist feeding support can be harder when you're outside a big city. If you're in Leicestershire and your child struggles with eating, I can help. I'm Emma Fitzgerald, a specialist paediatric feeding therapist, and I support babies and children across the county, from the towns and villages around Loughborough, Melton Mowbray, Hinckley, Market Harborough and beyond.

I offer both in-person consultations and online sessions, so wherever you are in the county, and however far you'd rather travel, there's a way for us to work together. A lot of Leicestershire families choose online precisely because it saves a drive with a tired toddler in the back, but if you'd prefer to meet face to face, that's easily arranged.

How I can help

I work with a wide range of feeding and eating difficulties, including:

  • Extreme picky eating and refusing whole food groups

  • Weaning difficulties and trouble moving on to lumps and textures

  • Gagging and choking during meals

  • Sensory-based feeding difficulties

  • Bottle and oral aversion in babies, including after prematurity

  • Feeding difficulties linked to reflux or other medical needs

Whether your child is a healthy, growing toddler who has simply got stuck with food, or a baby with more complex needs, I can help you understand what's happening and what to do next.

Feeding support that reaches beyond the cities

If you live in one of the smaller towns or villages, you'll know that specialist services can feel a long way away, and local NHS waiting lists are often stretched. Families whose children are growing well but still battling at every mealtime frequently find they don't meet the threshold for NHS therapy, and are left to manage alone. Wherever you are in Leicestershire, you can reach me just as easily as a family in the middle of a city, and get the same specialist support.

What working together looks like

We usually start with a free 15 minute discovery call, so you can tell me about your child and check I'm the right fit before committing to anything. From there, a full assessment gives us a clear picture, and I build a practical plan you can use at home, with follow-up support as your child makes progress.

About me

I'm a HCPC-registered speech and language therapist with over 16 years of clinical and NHS experience in paediatric feeding. My approach is calm, practical, evidence-based and free of judgement. My aim is simple: to help your child eat and drink with more confidence, and to make mealtimes easier for your whole family.

Serving families across Leicestershire in person, and across the UK and Ireland online.
